Thomas Friedman War of Ideas.
In response to Thomas Friedman's op-ed column
War of Ideas, Part 5
in today's New York Times
I sent the following letter to the editors:
In his op-ed column of January 22, 2004 Thomas Friedman
attributes things going "sour" in Iraq to the "Bush approach".
He believes so firmly the Iraq war was a good idea, he is
unable even to consider that we are doing as well as can be
expected and, just perhaps, it was a bad idea in the first
place. Can Mr. Friedman describe a possible scenario in Iraq
which would cause him to admit he was wrong about the pros and
cons of going to war? Or will he always blame someone else
and insist that we are failing because we are just not doing
it right?
